Early Music Festival Chamber Concert Description:
Montana Early Music Festival Chamber Concert

After four performances of J.S. Bach's dramatic St. John Passion, seven of our Baroque instrumentalists will be staying on in Helena to kick back for a dessert concert on Sunday afternoon, April 2. This final event in the Montana Early Music Festival schedule is a much-loved tradition in the festival's history, and looked forward to every year by players and audience alike.

In the informal venue of a warm and acoustically gratifying home in the mansion district, the early instruments' colors and virtuosity shine. We will hear four treble instruments - violin, oboe and 2 traversi (flutes) - and 3 continuo instruments - bassoon, cello and harpsichord. The combinations are full of possibility! These house concerts are intimate, exciting and always delightful, as the players show off their unique instruments in individual and ensemble skills in a spontaneous-sounding conversational program.

The 2017 Montana Early Music Festival house concert will be at 4 pm on Sunday April 2, at a home in the upper west side mansion district. Please call Linda at 406-465-4773 to reserve a seat, and get directions to the venue - seating is very limited in these historic homes. Wine, cheese and desserts are included in the $25 suggested donation at the door.
