Social Justice Human Rights Film Festival
7:00 PM
Carroll College 101/102 Simperman Hall/Wiegand Amphitheatre
Description:
For the three days of the festival, Carroll College will screen a film a day, and each one will focus on social justice and human rights themes in a particular part of the world. Fantassut/Rain on the Borders and other short films examine the Syrian refugee crisis in North America and Europe; Trick or Treaty, discusses the contentious issue of land acquisition and the promises made to Native tribes by European settlers in Canada; The Uncondemned, is a world-changing story of a group of young international lawyers and activists who fought to make rape a crime of war.
The larger goal of the film festival is to generate conversations among audience members, so each film screening will be followed by an interdisciplinary faculty-led panel discussion and Q/A with the audience.

These events are free and open to the public.
