Simple Design Principles Toward Landscaping, Eating, Working, and Living for a Healthy and Hopeful Now with a Regenerative Future

Permaculture is a system of agricultural and social design principles centered on simulating or directly utilizing the patterns and features observed in natural ecosystems.

On May 20 and 21, I will be offering a 2-day lecture and play based workshop on permaculture design fundamentals and guiding you through a permaculture design charrette for your own landscape/property. There are limited spots, so get them while they're hot! Or as the proverb says, "Make hay while the sun shines!"

This two day workshop contains four topic areas.

DAY 1: PERMACULTURE DESIGN PRINCIPLES, PATTERNS AND THEIR APPLICATIONS
Topic I: Permaculture Design Ethics and Principles, Patterns in Nature

Topic II: Applying Natural Patterns to Create Regenerative Systems in your Landscape: Climates, Water, Soils and Micro-climates

DAY 2: HOMESTEAD TOUR, HANDS ON AND PENS OUT

Topic III: Visit a Working Urban Permaculture Homestead in Helena
Experience a Helena, Montana permaculture urban homestead with a tour. Kinesthetically understand the principles you learned on Day 1, including water, soils, food forest design, small animal husbandry, garden economics and more. Begin to craft your own home design in your mind...

Topic IV: Home Landscape Design Charrette and Organic Local Lunch
....Then, we'll get it onto paper! Don't worry, no need to be an artist! Some of our best design concepts can emerge when we are asked to get something down quickly. Patterns of our deepest design desires emerge and form the basis for more details later.

Over a home cooked, organic lunch, we'll have a discussion about your design which will refine your integrated design for this summer and beyond. You'll leave this workshop feeling replenished, hopeful, with a design for your landscape in hand, and a full belly.
