The Salvation Army will host the 2014 Helena Patriot Day Breakfast Honoring Uniformed Services on Friday, September 5, at the First Assembly of God Youth First auditorium on the corner of Dodge and Elm.The 2014 theme is AMERICAN HEROES. Breakfast will be served at 7:00AM; the program will begin at 7:30AM.
One of the highlights will be a colorful combined Color Guard of the Joint Military, Helena Police Department, Lewis & Clark County Sheriff's Office, Montana Highway Patrol, Helena Fire Department, and Montana State Firemen's Association Honor Guards. The United States Armed Forces and Civilian Heroes will be recognized. There will be special music.
The featured video will be"American Heroes."
Representatives of 'civilian heroes' agencies, including Helena Police Department, Helena Fire Department, and Lewis & Clark County Sheriff's Department will be in attendance. Also other civilian service organizations and governmental agencies will be represented. Chaplain Kenneth DuVall, of the Montana National Guard, will add to the program.
A great deal of a delightful and nourishing breakfast buffet of eggs, meat, bread, fruit, potatoes, breakfast bakery assortment, coffee, and juice will be provided by Ken's Catering of Helena, for a cost of $10.00 per person.
Tickets will go on sale August 15, on a first-come, first-served basis, at the Helena Area Chamber of Commerce (442-4120), Cornerstone Christian Bookstore (443-1991), Helena Motors (442-6310), and the Helena Patriot Day Coalition (R.S.V.P. to 475-3766). Seating is limited, so get your tickets early.
Volunteers are always welcome and necessary. Both before and after the event assistance is needed to set up, decorate, tear down, and clean up the gymnasium/dining area.
The event is hosted by the Salvation Army, and presented by The Helena Patriot Day Coalition, a sub-committee of SONG Productions, Inc., an all-volunteer, non-profit, 501(c)(3) non-denominational organization. Donations are tax deductible.
