Thursday, January 16 at 6 PM, Lecture Hall at Helena College, 1115 N. Roberts. Inside Montana Politics: A Reporter's View from the Trenches is a lively historical and personal look at major political figures and events Dennison has covered during his 30-plus-year career as a reporter in Montana. The book leads off with a chapter on one of the biggest political, economic and investigative stories he covered: The fall of Montana Power Co., in the wake of the deregulation debacle of the late 1990s and early 2000s. It also has chapters on U.S. Sens. Conrad Burns, Max Baucus and Jon Tester, Govs. Marc Racicot, Judy Martz and Brian Schweitzer. Dennison is currently the chief political reporter for the Montana Television Network, which includes nine stations (KXLH and KTVH in Helena). He's been a reporter since 1981, almost entirely in Montana, and a full-time political reporter here since 1992, previously working for the Montana Standard, Billings Gazette, Great Falls Tribune, Helena Independent Record, Missoulian, and The Associated Press.
