"A Kick in the Ash: 9,000 Years of Western Montana Prehistory" is the subject of Steve Platt's presentation to the Last Chance Gulch History Group on Monday, March 19th. Archaeological work in Western Montana is turning up recurring evidence of human occupation immediately after the eruption of Mount Mazama in the Cascade Range about 7,000 years ago. Steve Platt spent 25 years as the Staff Archaeologist for the Montana Department of Transportation. He recently retired from MDT.
