Please stop in to 1 1=1 Gallery on Saturday March 23, for an Open House from 11 to 4pm. Come celebrate our new art space, TWO, and meet one of the featured artists, Darla Myers.

This month, TWO features new encaustic paintings by Myers of Bozeman, Montana and whimsical wood sculptures by Peter Shaughnessy of Tatla, British Columbia. Myers will be at the gallery Saturday to share her inspirations and encaustic methods. She will have samples of different techniques, some of her tools and materials, and will answer your questions throughout the day.

Stop by for a few minutes or an hour -- take a fun cultural break in the middle of your Saturday errands and satisfy your curiosity about just what IS encaustic art? How do artists make such incredible paintings from just beeswax, pigment and resin? How should one take care of a beeswax painting? Isn't it fragile? (hint: nope!)

We'll have coffeecake and warm beverages in the morning, switching to snacks and drinks in the afternoon. See you down there!

1 1=1 Gallery is located at 434 N. Last Chance Gulch. The current TWO solo shows will run through April 12. Spring hours are Tues-Sat 11 to 6.
