Last Chance Gulch Corral History Dinner Club
5:30 PM
Jorgenson's Restaurant
Description:
June Sprout of Great Falls will be the guest speaker at the Last Chance Gulch Corral History Dinner Club. The LCGC meets on Monday evening April 16, 2018 in the lower dining room at Jorgenson's Restaurant. Her presentation will be "Mary Fields: One of the Freest Souls to Ever Draw a Breath". Reservations are required by calling Shirley Thomas at 227-5953 or 431-8196. Anyone interested in Montana history is welcome.

When June and Dale Sprout moved to Cascade, Montana in 1983, they started hearing the name Mary Fields and Stagecoach Mary. Stories and descriptions of her by the locals reached legendary status. In 2000-2001 six teachers were brought together through a University of Montana grant called TALES The group set out to research the real story of Mary Fields and her relationship with residents of St. Peter's Mission and the town of Cascade. The result was a video/DVD that tells of Mary's time in Montana from her arrival at the mission to her days living in Cascade to her final passing.
