The Gold Rush Lions are a part of Lions Club International, whose motto is “We serve.” The mission statement of Lions Clubs International, which has 1.3 million members in 200 countries, is “To create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation.”

The Helena Gold Rush Lions Club works to benefit people in the greater Helena area with special emphasis on the youth of our community. The first priority of the Gold Rush Lions is to assure sight and hearing needs in our community are met. We provide eye examinations and glasses for students in the community, direct families to the Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation, and contribute to the cost of vision therapy.

Other fund-raising efforts we support include: Big Brothers & Sisters, Florence Crittenton Home, 4-H, the Salvation Army, Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), and Helena Food Share, among others.
