Montana Tales & Other Stories

Carroll College FLEX Theatre, Campus Center, Helena, Montana

The Montana Playwrights Network (MPN) announces open auditions for a staged reading performance of original stories, poetry and plays written by Montana playwrights and writers as part of the 2018 MPN Writer’s Challenge Competition. This collection of original works is entitled, “Montana Tales & Other Stories” and will be presented in a public performance on September 15, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the FLEX Theatre at Carroll College in Helena, Montana.

The auditions will be held at 2:00 p.m. on August 26th at the Carroll College FLEX Theatre, Campus Center, in Helena, Montana. Age ranges for the roles available are men and women: 18 – 60’s. Students and community members are encouraged to audition for several roles available. Actors will receive a monetary stipend for rehearsals and the performance. We will confirm the appointment and offer detailed information about the rehearsals and production in reply.

“Montana Tales & Other Stories” features: Charlie Russell Windshield, a poem by Jay Kettering;
Roy’s Day, a short story by Susan Gunn; A Montana Fish Story, a short play by Pamela Jamruszka Mencher; Active Shooter, a short play by Cynthia M. Webb; Trust, a monologue by Shaun Gant;
A Bad Play, a short play by Leah Joki; The Cell, a short play by Jordan R. Mencher; A Travel Tale, a storytelling by Janice Jamruszka-Wilson; Thinking About Moore, Montana, a memoir by Jay Kettering; and Grief, a poem by Shaun Gant.

The Montana Playwrights Network (MPN) is a 501 © (3) non-profit organization incorporated in Montana. MPN was formed to provide a forum focusing on story as expressed through a variety of formats, including but not limited to playwriting, storytelling, poetry, history, non-fiction, essays, memoirs and interpersonal communication. We’re looking to connect with writers, storytellers, teachers, theatre companies, libraries, book clubs, and businesses that are interested in story as integral to company cultures.
