Merlin Philosophy Symposium: The Environment, Ethics & Stewardship (Part 1)
This interactive Q & A-style symposium is PART 1 (of a 3-part series) on the environment, ethics & conservation stewardship and features a distinguished panel of invited guest speakers from a variety of disciplines. Sponsored by Humanities Montana and PLATO, and numerous community sponsors and collaborators including Carroll College, AERO, Prickly Pear Land Trust, HCTV, BWP Great Northern Hotel, Y2Y, MWF, OPI, Western Environmental Law Center, MWA, Native Nexus Consulting, and Heart of the Rockies Initiative, this evening symposium will be held in the Lower Campus Center (CUBE) at Carroll College and facilitated by Elvira Roncalli, PhD, Associate Professor of Philosophy, Carroll College.
Philosophical and other perspectives relative to public lands vs. private lands and individual rights, collective rights, indigenous/native american rights, and other rights will be explored. Speakers will briefly address the theme and then open the symposium up to general, free-flowing audience-panelist Q & A discussion.
