Tellling Stories Through Cartoons
12:00 PM
Montana Historical Society (east of the Capitol)
Description:
This year the Lewis and Clark Library’s NEA Big Read book is Can't We Talk About Something More Pleasant? in which author Roz Chast tells the story of her parents’ final years in cartoon format. In this lecture, Montana Historical Society Curator of Collections Amanda Trum will compare and contrast Chast's style of storytelling with that of legendary Montana cartoonist Stan Lynde. Trum will show some of Lynde's original works and discuss his distinct skill as a storyteller.
