The Madison River Foundation is a membership-based conservation non-profit based in Ennis, MT. All projects strive to preserve, protect, and enhance the Madison River ecosystem for the mutual benefit of wildlife and all users of the river. The MRF is currently working on various riparian restoration projects that span from the headwaters of the Madison in Yellowstone National Park to its confluence in Three Forks. Restoration projects include installing exclosure fencing, planting riparian trees and shrubs, formalizing fishing access trails, and enhancing connected off-channel habitat. The MRF also advocates for local, state, and federal policy impacting the Madison River, has been involved in creating more public access on the river for walk-in wade fishing, works with local ranchers on riparian fencing projects, hosts river clean up days, and educates the public with tools to mitigate aquatic invasive species.
