Helena New Horizons Concert Band Fall Concert
7:00 PM
St. Paul's United Methodist Church
Description:
The Concert Band will play a varied program of music, including selections from Harry Potter movies by John Williams, English Folk Song Suite by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Duke Ellington in Concert, a medley of tunes from Western movies, and some classic American tunes by Irving Berlin. At the end of the program, the band will play Frederick’s Black Devils march, featuring a guest appearance of a bag piper. The march was composed by Paul Murtha in tribute to the First Special Service Force made up of American and Canadian soldiers that trained at Fort Harrison in 1942. Conductors for the band are Tom Mazanec, Jerry Sept, Jim Perkins, and Nancy Trudell. The concert is free, although donations at the door are always appreciated.
