An Interpretation of Birds Description:
How we use birds to tell us about the world around us, from how the dinosaurs learned to fly to how very differently native people live with birds, will be presented in a program by Helena author Jim Robbins. Robbins suggests that birds are our most vital connection to nature. He will explore the unique qualities of birds and share some examples of the role of birds in our life from his fascinating and popular new book The Wonder of Birds. His book will be available for purchase and signing at this program.
Jim Robbins has lived in Helena for more than 40 years. He has written for the New York Times for nearly 40 years. Writing for a number of magazines, including Audubon and Smithsonian, he has covered environmental and other stories across the US and in numerous countries around the world. Robbins has written six books. His fifth book, The Man Who Planted Trees, is about the crisis in the world’s forests caused by climate change. The Wonder of Birds, his sixth book, was published in 2017.
