Artist Book-making
12:00 PM
Holter Museum of Art
Artist Book-making Description:
Learn Japanese style binding and create your own artist book! This workshop will start off with a brief history about the significance of artist books and their function. After that you'll start binding your own book with the instruction of host Tracy Hall. Once you have bound your book you are encouraged to decorate it however you see fit, whether that be drawings, writing, or collage, the choice is yours! The goal of this workshop is to inspire exploration and grow appreciation for bookmaking as a form of self-expression.

Instructor Bio: Tracy Hall is an artist and practiced bookmaker. She has taught a similar version of this workshop after completing her artist residency with Open AIR Montana in 2021. She has also taught a children's artist book workshop through Open AIR at the Philipsburg Public Library.
